Inter(root), Banyan
In this immersive installation, interactors explore a virtual Banyan tree. Resembling both tree and rhizome, the ancie Banyan is a metaphor for antediluvian and contemporary connectedness. Through a virtual exploration of a Banyan tree, interactors will examine the ecological and environmental cost of internet consumption; translucent roots are overlaid with representations of diverse energy sources illustration levels and types of consumption. The interactors become the consumed energy that traverses up and through the tangled roots, trunks, and branches of this expansive tree.
